Griffin's Little Free Pantry 1st Anniversary

It’s hard to believe that our Griffin’s Little Free Pantry is almost a year old!! This Pantry was a result of the General Federation of Woman’s Club’s International Day of Service and continues to serve those in our community who suffer from food insecurity. It remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 356 days a year….just as Little Free Pantries are intended to be! Those in need take what they need and leave what they can. No monitoring needed. We will continue to serve our community with this Pantry only. If you have ANY questions, please reach out to any member of the Woman’s Club of Windsor.

95 Years Strong

The Woman’s Club of Windsor, Inc. recently celebrated the 95th Anniversary of the club with a dinner of homemade dishes made by the member of the club. The celebration was held at the Windsor Ruritan Building, which was decorated beautifully.

Pictures and scrapbooks, through the years, were available for everyone to see.

GFWC Virginia President, Susie Mowry was in attendance, as well as GFWC Southside District President, Julie Johnson. Presidents of the other clubs in Southside District and District officers were in attendance. Also recognized were Dick Holland, Billy Gwaltney and Joanne Joyner representing supporting businesses in town, Chief Dan Riddle and Lieutenant Parker Jernigan of the Windsor Police Department, also strong

supporters of the club attended.

All but two past presidents of the club attended the event and were introduced. Several members chose a decade to represent and dressed accordingly. Kathy Queen, Club Parliamentarian presented the history of the club.

"Club Women - The Heartbeat of Windsor"

The Woman's Club of Windsor was founded in May 1930.  Our goals in 1930 were the same as today, to promote the civic, cultural, educational and social welfare of our community, to join with other club women to make a difference outside of our community and to provide fellowship for our members.

"Living the Volunteer Spirit"

GFWC clubs and clubwomen are the fabric that binds not only the Federation, but the communities in which they live and work. By Living the Volunteer Spirit, GFWC clubwomen transform lives each day, not simply with monetary donations, but with hands-on tangible projects that provide immediate impact. With a grassroots approach that often thinks locally but impacts globally, GFWC, its clubs and members remain committed to serving as a force for global good, as it has done since its formation 128 years ago.

General Federation of Women's Clubs

The Woman's Club of Windsor is part of the Southside District of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Virginia and of The General Federation of Women’s Clubs which is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

Our Mission

As part of one of the oldest and largest volunteer organizations we dedicate ourselves to serving the needs of our community. We are a non-profit organization, a sisterhood, and proud to be in the General Federation of Woman's Clubs.
